GOM Player is a Windows media player created by GOM & Company. It is also known as the most popular player in South Korea, with over 100 million downloads. [requires citation] Its key features include the ability to play some damaged media files and the use of a codec finder service to locate missing codecs.

GOM Player's emblem is shaped like a bear's paw, as the term gom () means "bear" in Korean.

There is a free and a premium version of GOM Player. GOM Player Plus is the paid version, which contains features such as simple settings and allows video playback without commercials.

GOM Player includes various built-in video and audio codecs, allowing it to play without the need to install additional codecs. If there isn't one, a codec search option can help you find one.
The simple embedded codec has the advantage of making video playback easy for computer newbies who are unfamiliar with codecs.
It is also possible to play video files that are incomplete, corrupted, or not completely downloaded.
When a video file's file name and subtitles are the same, subtitles are displayed automatically when the video is played.
Subtitles can be found in the subtitles archive supported by GOM Player if there is no subtitle file.
