Opera Browser
Opera Software has created a multi-platform web browser called Opera. Opera is a browser that runs on the Chromium operating system. It stands out from other browsers thanks to its unique user interface and other features.
Opera was first released in April 1995, making it one of the oldest still-developing desktop web browsers. For the first ten years, it was a commercial product with its own proprietary Presto layout engine. Opera transitioned to Chromium from the Presto engine in 2013.
The web browser is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, macOS, and Linux.
Opera Mobile and Opera Mini are mobile versions of the browser Opera News, a news app built on an AI platform, is also available to Opera users.
In 2019, the business launched Opera GX, a gaming browser. While working for Telenor, a Norwegian telecommunications business, Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner and Geir Ivarsoy began developing the Opera web browser in 1994.
They formed Opera Software AS in 1995. Opera was originally officially released in 1996 with version 2.10, which operated on Microsoft Windows 95. It was first launched in April 1995. In 1998, Opera began developing its first browser for mobile platforms.
Opera 4.0, which was introduced in 2000, included a new cross-platform core that made it easier to create Opera editions for other operating systems and platforms.
Opera had previously been trialware that had to be purchased once the trial time had expired. This condition was removed in Version 5.0 (issued in 2000). Instead, Opera became ad-supported, displaying adverts to non-paying users. Later versions of Opera give users the option of seeing Google's banner adverts or targeted text ads.

The adverts were fully deleted in version 8.5 (published in 2005), and the browser's principal source of revenue was revenue from Google (which is Opera's default search engine by contract).
Fraud protection employing technologies from GeoTrust, a digital certificate provider, and PhishTank, an organization that records known phishing websites, was one of the new features included in version 9.1 (published in 2006). This feature was enhanced in version 9.5 when GeoTrust was replaced by Netcraft, and Haute Secure virus protection was implemented.
